Sammie Hasen, the co-creator of Long Live the Little Ones , will be traveling to Florida to get to know the children and families who participate in the Lighthouse Family Retreat. Lighthouse is a retreat for families who have children living through childhood cancer. Childhood cancer takes a toll on the whole family, and the Lighthouse retreat is an opportunity for the family to relax and spend quality time together. The lighthouse volunteers do everything from cook and clean to organizing events for the families. Not only will Sammie be finding new participants for her book, but also she will have the opportunity to help out on the retreat and make it as relaxing as possible for the families. Sammie will be accompanied by Ella Marie Foundation staff volunteers, Ella and Olivia Koscik.
